Differences in the Work of Commercial and Residential Plasterers

Commercial and residential plasterers have different jobs. A commercial plasterer in Sydney works on large projects in the public sector, such as hotels, restaurants, office buildings and shopping centres. A residential plasterer works on smaller projects in private homes and residential properties. There are a number of differences between the work of commercial and residential plasterers in Sydney.

The main difference is that commercial plasterers tend to work on large projects that require a high degree of skill, while residential plasterers often work on smaller projects or in private homes. A commercial plasterer's job is to create or repair plaster surfaces on the walls of buildings. Commercial plasterers work on both new construction projects and older buildings that need restoration work done.

In addition, commercial plasterers from Sydney may use different materials than residential plasterers. For example, commercial plasterers may use a special type of plaster called "type 1" plaster. This type of plaster is used on walls that have been damaged by moisture and need to be repaired quickly.

Residential plasterers from Sydney usually prefer to use traditional plaster because it has better water resistance and durability than type 1 plaster. Residential plasterers typically work on smaller projects that can be completed in one day or less, such as patching holes in walls or replacing damaged tiles on a bathroom floor. Residential plasterers do not always have an assistant helping them with the job. Instead, they may use tools like trowels or spoons to apply their plaster onto surfaces and then sandpaper them later on if needed to make them smooth again before applying another coat of plaster.
